Independent affiliate pilot
A private STEP space where verified University of Toronto students, recent graduates and alumni supervisors can connect around the transition into psychotherapy practice.
Pilot access
Free
Affiliate pilot access currently has no charge. It is separate from STEP's paid general memberships and does not change their benefits or prices.
Who can apply
Affiliation approval confirms eligibility for this pilot. Alumni supervisors also complete STEP's normal professional review before they can appear in a directory; university affiliation alone is not a professional credential.
Join the private peer community and connect with relevant alumni supervisors after affiliation review.
Stay connected to peers, program-specific conversations and practical transition support.
Participate in the supervisor community and, after STEP professional review, appear in the private alumni directory.
How it works
Tell STEP whether you are a current student, alumni therapist or alumni supervisor and select the relevant participating program.
Use an eligible institutional or alumni email. If you no longer have one, request a manual STEP review instead.
Your account stays in a clear review state until affiliation is confirmed. A rejected request remains available for reconsideration.
Approved members see only the community and directory areas appropriate to their role.
The pilot does not request academic transcripts. STEP collects only the information needed for the affiliation review.
Alumni therapists and supervisors can consult the CRPO Cross-Border Therapy Tool when thinking about jurisdictional questions. STEP does not replace regulatory or legal guidance.
